DAVID REUTIMANN FINISHES SECOND IN NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY
Note: David Reutimann posted his career-best NASCAR Busch Series finish today, gaining seven positions in the driver points standings (fifth). This is also his career-best points position set after Daytona this season.
David Reutimann Quotes:
"The Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota Camry was strong and we were able to lead some laps and gain seven positions in the driver points standings with our first top-five finish of the season," Reutimann said. "We were fighting to make the Aaron's Dream Machine better during the race, but it was just too tight. Because of that, we got beat by the 60 car. Carl Edwards is tough anywhere you go. We could race golf carts out here at Nashville Superspeedway and hewould be tough to beat. You have to match him step for step."
"I'm really proud of my Aaron's Dream Team," Reutimann said. "We did have a mishap on pit road. When I pulled out of my pit box, the catch can was still attached and we had to serve a penalty handed down by NASCAR. That kind of stuff happens sometimes in racing. Although, my guys don't normally have things like that happen. I didn't get down on them because they don't get down on me when I mess up on the track. We didn't panic and we regrouped. The guys got together in the pits and overcame what happened. They have solid pit stops every week and the even picked up a couple spots during the race. They are awesome."
"It feels really good to run like we did today," Reutimann said. "This is the way we are capable of running every week. This finish definitely helps us get the ball rolling in the right direction. We'll have some momentum heading into Texas (Motor Speedway). Nashville (Superspeedway) is still my most favorite track on the planet. Texas is another track I've had success at in the past. Hopefully, we can have a run there like we did today."
