NAPA to sponsor Hornaday in NBS California race

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 9, 1998) NAPA AUTO PARTS will sponsor 1996 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday in the NASCAR Busch Series race at California Speedway in Fontana, Calif., on July 19.

Hornaday, who hails from Palmdale, Calif., will drive the NAPA AUTO PARTS/ARMORALL sponsored No. 97 Chevrolet owned by ST Motorsports in the Kenwood 300.

Hornaday will also drive the No. 16 NAPA BRAKES Chevy truck in the No Fear Challenge NASCAR Truck Series event on Saturday.

Hornaday has been a member of the NAPA "family" since 1996 when NAPA Brakes signed on as sponsor of the Dale Earnhardt, Inc. No. 16 Chevy truck. Hornaday is the winningest driver in NASCAR Truck Series history with 20 victories. The start at California would be Hornaday's third in the NASCAR Busch Series this season.

"I am looking forward to doing double duty at California," Hornaday said. "I am thankful for the opportunity ST Motorsports and NAPA have given me. We ran the trucks last year at California and had a blast. This will be my first time in a Busch car there. I hope we give the NAPA AUTO PARTS/ARMORALL Chevrolet a good run."
