Notes & Quotes
Casey Mears' Thoughts On Racing At The Milwaukee Mile... "The Milwaukee Mile has a lot of racing heritage associated with it and it's a special place for my family and I because it's where my uncle Rick won his first Indy Car race."
A Good Start... The Phillips 66 team has qualified in the top-15 for the last three Busch Series races, including a second-place start at Nashville Superspeedway three weeks ago.
The Equipment... "Gambler" is the car the Phillips 66 team will compete with this weekend in the "GNC Live Well 250" at The Milwaukee Mile. "Gambler" made its last appearance at Dover International Speedway in June after running at Bristol Motor Speedway in March.
A First Of Sorts... Sunday's GNC Live Well 250 will mark the first time Casey Mears has competed at The Milwaukee Mile in a stock car, but not the first time he has raced there. Mears competed in several Indy Lights Series events at the one-mile track; Mears' most recent start at 'The Mile' in the Indy Lights Series was in 2000 when he finished fifth.
Not What You'd Expect... While Casey Mears will make his first start in a stock car this weekend at The Milwaukee Mile, Mears' uncle Rick made his debut at The Milwaukee Mile in 1977 in a USAC Stock Car, not the open-wheel cars that made him famous.
