Flat Rock, NC (April 7, 2000) - Andy Petree Racing announced today that NASCAR Winston Cup regular Mike Skinner will take over driving duties of the No. 15 Albertson's Chevrolet for a limited NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division schedule beginning with the Auto Club 300 at California Speedway on April 29. "Mike Skinner is a great competitor and his success in Winston Cup racing proves that," Petree said. "We are excited about having a driver of his caliber in the Albertson's Chevrolet and I know the team is looking forward to their next race with Skinner behind the wheel." Skinner, the 1997 NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year, will compete in a total of six races for Andy Petree Racing in 2000. Following his debut with the team at California Speedway, Skinner will race at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 27 and October 7, Dover Downs International Speedway on June 3 and September 23 and Phoenix International Raceway on November 4. Derrick Gilchrist will drive the No. 15 Albertson's Chevrolet at The Milwaukee Mile on July 2 while Skinner fulfills his Winston Cup duties in Daytona. "As part of our marketing plan prior to the start of the season, we knew that we would receive a positive response from our involvement in NASCAR, but the feedback from our customers has been overwhelming," said Pam Powell, Vice President of Marketing for Albertson's. "We are excited about having someone with Mike Skinner's credentials and reputation driving the No. 15 Albertson's Chevrolet."
