Goulds Pumps NASCAR Busch Series driver Mike McLaughlin enters into the Albertson's 300 presented by Pop Secret on Saturday looking for some momentum. The year has been a rollercoaster so far for McLaughlin. In many races, McLaughlin has found himself racing inside the top-ten to only have trouble rear its head and spoil the day for the Waterloo, NY native. A run like last year at Texas Motor Speedway would bring a smile to the face of the man they call "Magic Shoes."

Last year, McLaughlin started the race in 24th position and quickly worked his way into the lead pack. As rain showers hit the speedway on lap 163 of 200, McLaughlin found himself in the 4th position closing in on the top-three drivers. The 4th place finish added to McLaughlin's impressive list of finishes at the 1.5 mile oval. In two previous starts McLaughlin recorded finishes of 5th and 11th.

"Texas is my kind of race track, in the past I have always adapted well to the high banked superspeedways," McLaughlin said. "We have our work cut out for us this year, but I believe we will have a strong chance at another top-ten finish if we can find a little racing luck."

PIT NOTES

Ø Crew chief Darrell Terry was released this week from his position with the team. Innovative Motorsports General Manager Mike Greci and shock specialist John Monsam will oversee McLaughlin's team this weekend.

Ø Mike and Katie McLaughlin's one month old son, Max, will make his first plane trip this weekend to the Albertson's 300. Max was born on February 29th.
