Thoughts on The Hardee's 250:
"We're all hoping this will be the race that puts an end to the 4 race slump we are in. It seems like I have been serving as a crash-test dummy the last 4 races. Last week in Loudon, we had a great race car and were coming through the field, then we had the accident. It was a disappointing day, but it's in our rear-view mirror now. It's time for Richmond and time for a great team effort by the Goulds Pumps Racing Team. We are going to have some fun on Friday night."
"Richmond hasn't been my best track statistic wise, but we have had some strong runs there before. In the past we just haven't been able to make it to the checkered flag without something happening. I enjoy racing at Richmond, the Sawyer's have done a great job in improving the track over the years. I know we will have a great crowd on Friday night and hopefully the Goulds Pumps Chevrolet will put on a good show."
Did you know? Mike McLaughlin won the 1988 NASCAR Modified tour championship. Some of the drivers McLaughlin raced against will be competing in the modified race at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday night.
