Busch Series' Youngest Full-Time Driver Only Non-Cup Driver among Leaders

BROOKLYN, MI (August 17, 2007)--Wheeling his Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches Dodge for the first time, 19 year-old Steve Wallace was among the top-ten fastest drivers in Friday's first practice for Saturday's running of the CARFAX 250 at Michigan International Raceway. His best lap of 40.220 seconds (179.015 MPH) was good enough to tie him with Carl Edwards for ninth fastest overall and put him as the only non-NEXTEL Cup Series driver in the top-ten. The team has not yet made its simulated qualifying effort.

Greg Biffle paced the session, followed by Matt Kenseth, Brian Vickers, Jeff Burton and David Ragan. Mark Martin, Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards and Wallace rounded out the top-ten.

Wallace, the youngest full-time driver in the Busch Series, celebrates his 20th birthday on race day. This weekend marks his first race with new RWI Racing crew chief, Tony Liberati.
