Brooklyn, Michigan - - After a rare weekend off, the NASCAR Busch Series including Virginia's Hermie Sadler will spring back to action in as the teams head to the "Irish Hills" of Michigan to roar at Michigan International Speedway Saturday afternoon.
After a disappointing 43rd place finish in the team's last outing at Indianapolis Raceway Park, Sadler along with his SCORE Motorsports team would like to break out of their slump and capture the Cabela's 250 trophy in one of the most competitive races of the year.
Heading into MIS (Michigan International Speedway) this weekend, Sadler has eight start at the two-mile oval. In those events, Sadler scored one of his three poles at the track in 1996. Despite decent qualifying efforts, the driver of the No. 02 machine has only one top-ten finish at one of the oldest track on the schedule, an eighth occurring in 1994.
In a race that will be covered with several NASCAR Nextel Cup Series drivers, the former Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year would gladly like to capture another pole, bypass that eighth place effort and roll his Bryant Stith owned team into victory circle.
"We really have high hopes for the weekend," said Mark Westrick, of The FanZCar0x28a7. "Hermie knows how to get around this wide-two mile oval, and if we have any luck, we'll be able to take the attention away from the bushwhackers and score our best finish of the season this weekend.
Sadler maintains the 22nd position in the NASCAR Busch Series standings. A good run on Saturday afternoon would allow the team to continue to gain points with hopes of climbing into the top 15 by seasons end.
Zapf Creation will bolt onto the hood of the No. 02 Chevrolet Monte Carlo as the primary sponsor for this weekends battle.
In addition, The FanZCar0x28a7, Jenkins & Jenkins Law Firm, and East Tennessee Trailers (ETT) will join the No. 02 machine as associate sponsors this weekend.
Sadler will also attempt to make the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series show this weekend. Sadler hopes to pilot the No. 02 Zapf Creation Chevrolet with associate sponsorship from The FanZCar0x28a7 in Sunday's GFS (Gordon's Food Services) Marketplace 400.
Rolling into the Motor City, Sadler has 248 NASCAR Busch Series starts to his record, 2 wins, 18 top-fives, 44 top-tens, three poles, and has achieved $2,577,188 in career earnings.
