Coleman Earns Top 15 at Michigan
Youngest NBS Driver Impressive in Field of Cup Regulars
Brooklyn, MI (August 19, 2007) -- 19 year-old Brad Coleman continued to show his consistency by earning a 15th place finish in the CarFax 250 at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday. After two impressive Top 10 runs on road courses he had never seen before, Coleman qualified the No. 18 Carino's Italian Grill Chevrolet in 17th position on the 2 mile speedway and finished in 15th in a field of 25 Nextel Cup regulars.
Running in the Top 15 for most of the 125 laps, the Joe Gibbs Racing rookie was moving into the Top 10 when a delayed pit stop on lap 78 set him back 5 spots.
"I had some tight battles for the first half of the race and was finally able to pass the five cars we had been racing in the 11th to 15th position when it came time to pit," stated Coleman. "Unfortunately, we dropped the ball in the pits and immediately lost all five of those spots and then some. It hurts because we had another Top 10 effort going but that is why they call this a team sport. My team has come through for me all season and I stick by them no matter what. I let them down earlier in the year at Las Vegas and they stood by me all the same. We will win together and we will lose together."
Coleman continues to prove he is capable at all types of tracks as his remarkable run in the NASCAR Busch Series has shown success all across the series, despite the fact he is seeing most of these venues for the very first time.
In just 13 races for JGR in 2007, the impressive youngster has posted three Top 5's, five Top 10's and seventh Top 15's along with winning the Pole at Talladega. His next race is at Bristol this coming week.
