"The Third Time's The Charm"
Huntersville, NC. (Feb. 28, 2006) -- ACDelco driver Clint Bowyer is looking forward to his second chance at conquering the twists and turns of the Autodromos Hermanos Rodriguez road course in Mexico City, Mexico, this Sunday, March 5, 2006 during the running of the Telcel-Motorola Mexico 200.
The 2005 race season brought the Emporia, Kan., native his first look at a road course when he competed in Mexico City last year. Bowyer qualified for the race in the 13th position and later proved that he could hang with the road course veterans when he brought the ACDelco machine back to the United States in 7th place.
After completing his first road course race Bowyer said, "To finish seventh racing against some of the best drivers in the world and being on a road course for the first time is a big accomplishment for me and all the guys with this ACDelco team."
Bowyer then competed at Watkins Glen International last season. With only his second road course start, he had a little trouble in qualifying which put him in the 41st starting position, but he rallied back and brought the ACDelco Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS home in 15th.
As the old saying goes, "the third time's the charm." Well, at least the ACDelco Real Car Guys hope so and will be focusing on bringing home their first road course victory in Mexico City, Mexico.
