BUSCH: McLaughlin Pikes Peak Preview

MIKE McLAUGHLIN NAPA AUTO CENTERS 250 NOTES AND QUOTES Mike McLaughlin, driver of the Goulds Pumps ...

Mike McLaughlin, driver of the Goulds Pumps #34 Chevrolet Monte Carlo:

"I am really excited about going to Colorado this weekend. Our whole team had such a great experience out there last year. That part of the country is so beautiful, full of places to see after a hard day at the track. We hope to get back up on Pikes Peak and see a few of the other attractions while we are there."

"The Goulds Pumps team will be looking to win the race this year. Last year we were in second place late in the race, when another car clipped us and gave me a flat tire. It was a real disappointing way to end a strong weekend of racing. If we can unload the car and be as strong as we were last year, I think we will be a contender for the win."

McLaughlin and the Goulds Pumps Racing Team participated in a Goodyear tire test at Pikes Peak International Raceway earlier this season.

McLaughlin is looking forward to the pre-race entertainment on Saturday. Robbie Kneivel is scheduled to make a motorcycle jump over trucks prior to the race. McLaughlin list motorcycles as his favorite hobby. He and wife Katie own Harley-Davidson's and enjoy spending free time cruising on the cycles.

Goulds Pumps will be hosting a hospitality event on race morning. McLaughlin will visit with Goulds Pumps guests prior to the driver's meeting to sign autographs and speak with customers.

Goulds Pumps and Mike McLaughlin souvenirs are available at all 32 NASCAR Busch Series races. W & H Racing operates a trackside trailer that includes the souvenirs of Mike and his two teammates, Tim Fedewa and Todd Bodine. Cicci-Welliver Racing items are also available.

Earlier this season, a contest was held to name the Goulds Pumps pit crew. The "SHOE CREW" was selected from a list of over 300 entries among Goulds Pumps employees. The name is a play on words with McLaughlin's nickname, "Magic Shoes."
