Tim Sauter Post Race Quotes
On his fourth Top-15 in five races
"It has been great to perform this well. We have been in contention the past five weeks and we need that to gain the attention of a sponsor. This week was probably our worst week since Bobby (crew chief Bobby Bakkeef) came on board and we finished 12th. That's not bad. This finish would have meant the world to me earlier this year ,so it's important to not lose track of our improvement as a team."
On the restart following the second caution
"Everybody checked up on that restart. It was stop and go deal. I had my hand out the window trying to slow everybody down. We made it through, but some really good cars didn't."
On the handling of the No. 19 Chevy Monte Carlo
"When I got up to a car, I couldn't do anything because I was pushing so bad off the corners. I was best during the second green-flag run. I could make a run on them getting in the corner, but still couldn't get on the gas like I wanted too. We just didn't leave ourselves enough adjustment in the springs. I was hunting around out there for a line, just listening to my lap times. When I ran my fastest time around Lap 100, I just kept with it. It's hard to make a pass here. You have to be able to make the car turn to get off, the corner and even though we worked at it, we never got it perfect."
On the AP Performance Racing team's pitwork
"Our pit stops were great today. We didn't give anything up, and we gained positions. We could have gambled during that last stop, taken gas only and went for track position. But you never know if that would have helped."
