Brooklyn, MI--After a day full of on-again, off-again rain showers and delays, Kevin Lepage driving a Brewco owned Chevrolet grabbed the top spot for Saturday's race at Michigan in 38.784 seconds, a top speed of 185.644 mph.

Lepage, who had begun the 2002 season minus a sponsor on his own team, took over behind the wheel of the 37 after the team's regular driver, Jeff Purvis was injured in an accident in Nazareth.

Winston Cup regular Michael Waltrip will start alongside him in row one in his No. 99 Chevrolet. Waltrip topped a fast lap in 38.896 seconds, a speed of 185.109mph.

PPC teammates Scott Riggs and Jason Keller will start their Fords in row two, while ST Motorsports' Stacy Compton closes out the top five. Rookie Casey Mears will start beside Compton in row three.

Bobby Hamilton Jr., Ron Hornaday, Hank Parker, Jr and Jeff Burton complete the top-10. Series' points leader Greg Biffle will start 28th.
