KEVIN LEPAGE - #88 HYPE MONTE CARLO
TALLADEGA NOTES OF INTEREST
QUOTES Kevin Lepage: "We ran well here last year. We qualified 6th and finished 9th, so I'm looking for another top ten finish this weekend. I'm glad we are here in April instead of July. Hopefully we will get all of qualifying in this week."
C. R. Miller, Crew Chief: "This whole team is excited about being back at Talladega. The guys really worked hard to get the car ready for this race. Last week's 8th place finish gave everybody in the shop a boost. These guys never give up, so another top ten finish felt good."
NEW PAINT JOB FOR TALLADEGA Major sponsor Hype asked the Ridling Motorsports Team to try out a new paint scheme for this weekend. The #88 Monte Carlo will sport a blue body with new colored Hype decals. The decals are made of a special 3M material Hype uses on its Formula One cars. "This is a special deal for Hype," commented team owner David Ridling. "We may use this combination five or six times this year. Hype is looking for some continuity with their racing program."
NASCAR BGN TRANSPORT DRIVERS DRIVING CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS Overall winner in last week's Ryder Driver Recruiting BGN Transport Drivers Rodeo was Dennis McCarson, transport driver for the #00. Scott Moyer, transport driver for the #38, finished second overall. Ryder Driver Recruiting presented McCarson with a $1000 U.S. Savings Bond. Moyer received a $500 U.S. Savings Bond. Akins Sutton team owners Brad Akins and Bob Sutton doubled Moyer's winnings. "We were delighted with the turnout and certainly hope to do this again soon," stated John Priest, Director, Driver Development for the Ryder Integrated Logistics, Inc. Brentwood, TN office.
