MEMPHIS, Tenn.-Starting the Sam's Town 250 in the rear of the pack, Mark Green would have a lot of ground to make-up to put his Superflo/HMV Motorsports Chevrolet in position for a strong finish. Prior to Saturday afternoon qualifying, the decision was made to changed gears in the Superflo machine with hopes of stepping-up earlier practice efforts. "We made the decision to changed gears hoping that it would help us get around the track quicker," explained Jeff Hensley, HMV Motorsports team manager. "Unfortunately the change hurt us more than it helped and were forced to start at the back of the field for the race." When the green flag fell for the Sam's Town 250, Green was running consistently in the 31st position, taking advantage of the long runs. "Unlike most of the leaders, our car was actually better on the longer runs," commented Green, driver of the Superflo Chevrolet. "At first the car would start off slow and as the tires would get heat in them we could make up a lot of ground. The car was strong all day, and did all we could do." After the last caution of the day came out, Green began taking his racecar aggressively through the field making his way to the 26th position before the race was over. "At the end, we made a pretty strong run through traffic," added Hensley. "We were able to work our way to 26th and just ran out of laps. The car got better as the day progressed."
