Compton at Las Vegas: Compton has visited Las Vegas Motor Speedway five times as a NASCAR driver. In 2000 and 2001 he drove the Melling Racing entry in the Winston Cup Series, and from 1997 to 1999 he had rides in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In 1999 he captured the pole at the Craftsman Truck Series Orleans 250 in Las Vegas and finished the race in sixth place.

Compton on Las Vegas: "We have always run well at Las Vegas. At Vegas you need a good handling car because it's a big momentum track. You take a lot of speed into the corners and have to roll through them. Our team is capable of winning. If we can get a good qualifying run, I think we could come away with a top five finish. We need to dig ourselves out of a little hole we dug the first two races of the season."

Crew Chief's Comments: "Stacy will be in the car he ran 10th with at Homestead the last race of the season. He liked the way it drove, so we just freshened it up a little. We are giving Stacy an aggressive qualifying package with a good engine from RCR. We hope to rebound from a rough run at Rockingham last weekend." Steve Plattenberger

Owner's Comments: "Everyone in racing is a high roller, so Vegas is the place to be." Tad Geschickter

Double Duty: Compton is also running the full NASCAR Winston Cup Series schedule in the No. 14 Conseco Pontiac owned by A.J. Foyt Racing. Last week in Rockingham, he posted a 43rd place finish after his engine failed on lap 34.
