Scot Walters/Red Man Racing Notes

* Run for the Money: Scot Walters and the Red Man/Brewco Motorsports team are locked in a battle for the last cash bonus position in the final NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings. The 20th position in the standings pays $24,000, 21st position pays nothing, so it is easy to see why the teams and drivers are so interested in finishing in the money.

Coming into the final race of the season, Walters sits 20th in the standings just 19 points behind Terry Cook for the 19th place. However, Walters is only 31 points ahead of Boris Said, who is in the 21st position, or 10 spots on the track.

"It's going to be a fight," said Walters. "We have to have a good finish without any problems or Boris will catch us. If we can get a solid finish it's possible we could catch Cook and move up another spot. But we'll just have to see."

Walters and the Red Man team have made a great run in the last seven weeks just to be in a position to finish in the top 20 in points. Following the 36th place finish at Memphis Motorsports Park, where the engine let go, Walters was 21st in the standings 111 points out of 20th and 119 points out of 19th. From September 18th until now, the team has turned up the wick so to speak and gained back all but 19 of the points lost.

"We've come a long way this year," said Walters. "When the season started there were many unknowns. But the Red Man team has always come up strong, so this should be no different. We'll just go out here on Sunday and do the very best we can and hope for the best."

* Accomplishments: When Scot Walters and the Red Man truck take the green flag for the start of the Sam's Town 250 in Las Vegas, two career highlights will be achieved. Walters will have started 30 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races, and earned over $200,000 in his short NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career.
