Ready for a good finish
Dallas -- When the Sam's Town 300, round 3 of the NASCAR Busch Series, thunders into action, Saturday, March 6th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, top-ranked Craftsman Truck Series driver David Starr will be ready to earn a top finish. "I think we have a strong chance of doing well," says Starr, who will pilot the No. 50 Enzyte Chevrolet for Holigan Racing. "We tested the car last week in Texas and I was really pleased with the results. All we need is a little of that famous Las Vegas luck and we should be good to go."
No stranger to the well-known "Diamond in the Desert" track, Starr has run extremely well there in the Craftsman Truck Series, earning the win in 2002 and a second place finish in 2003. "This will be the first time I have run this course in a car," smiles Starr. "But I don't see that as any problem. "It is a track I really like and I'm very excited about the performance of our Enzyte Chevy. Las Vegas is very much a driver's track. It's wide, multi-grooved, fast, smooth and great for passing. It's definitely one of the most fun tracks on the circuit and I'm certainly looking forward to this race."
While this is the first time that Starr will race for the Texas based Holigan Racing, it will not be his first time in a Busch car. "I have run selected Busch races in the past," continued Starr. "But this season will be the first time that I have run a major part of the series. Our plan is to contest a total of 15 Busch events in the Enzyte Chevy. This is a incredible career opportunity and I really appreciate everything Michael Holigan is doing for me. The one way I can pay him back is by doing well and that is what we intend to do. We have a great Chevy and an excellent crew with Todd Myers as crew chief. They know exactly what it takes to do run up in front and as everyone knows, having a top notch crew is a large part of the battle."
Competing for the past twenty years, Starr has more than made his mark in the industry earning numerous top finishes, wins, and accolades in various arenas. Named most popular driver in 2002 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Starr has established himself as one of the most professional drivers in racing today. With his behind the wheel talent and intense desire to succeed, there is no doubt that this is a young man who can do exactly what he sets out to do.
