Just one week after scoring his first career series win, Kyle Busch grabbed his fourth career pole at Nazareth Speedway. Busch's speed of 131.167 mph secured him the pole for the last Busch series event at the struggling Nazareth track. International Speedway Corporation announced last week that the speedway would not be a part of the 2005 NASCAR Cup schedule.

"We've really been running well here as of late," said Busch. "Hopefully we can keep it going the rest of the year. If we can do this week in and week out we are going to be really tough."

Regan Smith, qualifying for Kasey Kahne, earned a career-high second place. NEXTEL Cup drivers Kasey Kahne, Greg Biffle and Michael Waltrip all decided to forego time-trials at Nazareth, to concentrate on the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge tonight at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

"It's really the first time I've had the chance to get in good equipment," Smith commented. "Hopefully within the next couple of months I can get up front in a more permanent ride."

Johnny Sauter, who opted to roll the dice and qualify his own car at Nazareth, did not make it back from Pennsylvania in time for the mandatory driver's meeting, and will have to fall to the rear of the field for The NEXTEL Open. Sauter was only 23rd best at Nazareth.

Shane Hmiel, Jason Keller and Tim Fedewa completed the top five qualifiers.
