Krogh hospitalized after wreck

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (July 3, 1999) NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division driver Jeff Krogh, injured during Saturday's final practice for Sunday's DieHard 250 at The Milwaukee Mile, is in critical but stable condition at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee. Krogh's No. 56 Chevrolet made contact with the Turn 1 retaining wall. Krogh crashed earlier in the day during his Bud Pole Qualifying run. He claimed the 42nd starting position in Sunday's race, however, with a provisional.

Krogh, 27, hails from Kamiah, Idaho. He has driven in the NASCAR Busch Series since 1997. In 56 career starts in the series, he has one top-5 and two top-10 finishes.

The driver of the No. 56 Chevrolet currently stands 32nd in the NASCAR Busch Series standings. His younger brother, Mark Krogh, also drives in the series. Mark Krogh has made two starts in the No. 80 Chevrolet this season.

In 56 career NASCAR Busch Series starts, Krogh has a top-5 finish and two top-10s to his credit. His best finish was a fifth-place effort in the Coca-Cola 300 at Texas Motor Speedway in 1998.
