DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 22) - Kevin Harvick and the PayDay Racing team are on a collision course with the Koolerz 300, and they're traveling at a speed of 182.694 mph.
Harvick achieved his top speed, the fifth-best of the field, on the second day of NASCAR Busch Series testing at Daytona International Speedway for the Feb. 15 Koolerz 300. After the first day of testing, Harvick owned the sixth-fastest time of 182.622 mph. Open wheel star Jimmy Vasser led the two-day test session by completing a circuit around the 2.5 mile track at an average speed of 184.158 mph.
PayDay Racing crew chief Butch Hylton shared his thoughts on the two-day testing effort. "I'm really happy with the effort we had at the Daytona test. We've got several new guys on the team and they really worked well together. We've got a good car for Daytona, and a great shot of putting together a good effort. We're going to pick up some more speed and put the No. 21 PayDay Chevy in the front of the field."
"It's a very important race for us," Harvick added. "We've run second and fifth and led a lot of laps. We're looking forward to coming back. We've got really good speedway Busch cars and Cup cars. We're looking for a big weekend when we come back."
On Jan. 27 and Jan. 28, the PayDay Racing team will test at Las Vegas Motor Speedway before departing for Daytona Beach.
