"In this morning's practice, we were extremely well in race trim. The car hardly ever dropped off, and that's really important here. Like Kyle (Busch) said, it's all through the corner here. You can be the third or fourth best motor. If you can get through the corner, you're going to be fast. That's all we really worried about. We went out and made a couple of runs this morning in qualifying trim and it was OK, and we just taped it up for qualifying and got us a spot. Mainly right now all that qualifying is for is getting a real good pit stall and that's so important nowadays as far as wining races. We'll take what we got and go after tomorrow."
"The last six or seven races, we've been in the top five every time except for last weekend in Nashville; we broke a hub on the right front. Other than that, once we figured out the tire we were OK. It was just a different deal for a lot of our shocks and springs, and really wasn't working as far as conformability for the driver. We got that figured out, started picking the pace back up, and the 5 and the 8 have really stretched the points. Hopefully this will be the race that will turn it around for us as far as getting our first win. This was our first win last year and we went on to win four more, so hopefully this will be the same."
"It's about the same. I've seen some scrape marks, so evidently they must have added a little bit of grip in there themselves. Goodyear had brought a tire that's really grippy and doesn't fall off, so any time you can get that, grip and a fast race track, you're going to see super-fast speeds and great racing. I think the last two years here, they've been won from the last lap and the last two laps, so this year won't be no different either."
