FONTANA, Calif. (September 2, 2004) - On Sat. Sept. 4 California Speedway will welcome back the stars of the NASCAR Busch Series including Kenny Wallace.
Wallace, whose best finish at the superspeedway is ninth, which came earlier this year in May, is looking forward to his second trip to Southern California this year.
"I really like Fontana," he said. "I've never really had a lot of success there, but it's a fun track. It's a fast track. It's shaped in such a way that's it's fun to drive."
The driver of the No. 23 Stacker 2 Chevrolet will join 42 others as they compete at the 2-mile, D-shaped oval in the Target House 300.
Wallace who is currently 11th in points, has finished in the top-10 final point standings seven times during his career and has nine career wins and ten career poles.
California is such a vacationing hot spot for so many people and Wallace is no exception. When he's not racing in California, Wallace and his wife enjoy the simple things in life, like shopping.
"My favorite experience in California isn't necessarily about the track," Wallace said. "It's the Ontario Mills Mall. Me and my wife get a kick about going there."
