"HAPPY" HARVICK RETURNS -- Kevin Harvick, the 2000 Busch Series Rookie of the Year and the 2001 Busch Series Champion, returns to the REESE'S Chevy after a two-race absence. The last time Harvick was behind the wheel of the No. 21 Chevy was at Richmond International Raceway on Sept. 9. Harvick started the race in the eighth position and won the race in a dominating fashion. Harvick led 149 of 250 laps. It was Harvick's third win of the season and 16th win of his Busch Series career.
REESE'S CHEVY PREVIOUSLY AT KANSAS -- This will be the first time that Harvick has been behind the wheel of the REESE'S Chevy at Kansas Speedway. In 2003, Johnny Sauter started the race in the 19th spot and finished 34th. In 2004, Clint Bowyer finished 32nd in his homecoming.
HARVICK AT KANSAS -- Harvick has competed in only two Busch Series races at Kansas Speedway. He has yet to record a win, but finished second in 2003 when he was behind the wheel of the No. 29 Sonic Chevy.
1.5 MILE STATS -- In just 27 starts on tracks that are equal 1.5 miles, Harvick has five wins (19%), three second-place finishes (11%), 10 top-five finishes (37%) and 16 top-10 finishes (59%). He has claimed two poles and led 850 laps. Harvick's average start is ninth and average finish is 12th.
MILLER'S TIME -- Brandon Miller is scheduled to be back behind the wheel of the REESE'S Chevy Oct. 14 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. This will mark Miller's 11th start of the season and his 12th-career NASCAR Busch Series start. Miller's best finish of the season came during the Wallace Family Tribute in St. Louis. He started fifth and finished sixth. He also finished 10th the week before at Pikes Peak.
TEAM STANDINGS -- The REESE'S Racing team is fourth in the Busch Series Owner Standings with 329 points less than the leader, Martin Truex's team.
QUOTEBOOK AND NOTES:
Crew Chief Ricky Viers on Kansas -- "Kansas is a pretty fast track, and it can get windy at times. Kevin will be in our car this weekend so it gives us an advantage over the other teams. There are going to be some really good cars in the field, but we're going to be one of those. I'm looking forward to a good weekend in Kansas."
On having Kevin in the car for three of the last six races -- "It is good for many reasons. One, it will help us build momentum going into the last six races of the season. You also have to realize the Kevin has so much more experience than Brandon, and that'll give us a great shot to make a run on some of the teams ahead of us in the points."
