Carrying the Winning Momentum Home to Kansas
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 26, 2006) -- ACDelco driver Clint Bowyer heads home to Kansas this weekend fresh from his victory at Dover International Speedway last Saturday, the team's first win of the season and the 30th victory for ACDelco in the past decade of NASCAR Busch Series competition.
Bowyer and the ACDelco Real Car Guys will carry their winning momentum to Kansas Speedway, as they compete in the Yellow Transportation 300 Sept. 30. "Getting our first win of the season was the toughest thing for us," said Bowyer. "We've had a lot of ups and downs this year, and the win in Dover was exactly what we needed. I'm going to carry the momentum with me to Kansas for the hometown crowd and hopefully get another win for everyone."
Despite past struggle at Kansas Speedway Bowyer is confident that this will mark a turning point for the team at his hometown track. "Now the ACDelco team knows that we can do it and that we have what it takes to get a win," said Bowyer. We have our confidence back, and that's what it takes to get wins and to run good every week."
Bowyer about Busch versus Cup Series competition...
Last season, the Richard Childress Racing (RCR) Busch Series teams were running better than the Cup Series teams. Talk about what you think the difference is this year and why both the Busch and Cup programs are running well this season.
"Looking back, I wouldn't say our Busch program was better than our Cup program last year, it was just a lot more successful on the track. The difference this season is that we have the right people in the right places. RCR has stepped it up this year, and it shows. It's a big group effort. I wouldn't say it's just one person that made all of this happen, it's been a success because the company as a whole is a lot better than we were in the past."
