Roshfrans to Sponsor ppc Racing, Michel Jourdain Jr. in Mexico

(MOORESVILLE, N.C.) February 23, 2006 -- ppc Racing officials announced today that Roshfrans, the leading motor lubricant company in Mexico, will sponsor the No. 15 ppc Racing Ford Fusion driven by Michel Jourdain Jr. in next week's NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City. Roshfrans is the official lubricant of the Champ Car World Series, where Jourdain has scored two career victories. Jourdain looks to earn his first stock car win at his home track and talked about his return to racing in Mexico.

"I am glad to be back racing stock cars with Roshfrans, because they are such an important part of racing in Mexico, and in my history with Champ Cars," said Jourdain. "Roshfrans is a long-time Mexican company that supports racing and its people. To represent Roshfrans in my home country and at my home track is fantastic. I'm also happy that KRAFT has continue to support me and ppc Racing. Last year we had a good car and twice I drove from the back, all the way up to sixth place when I got spun out by another competitor. There will be many Mexican drivers trying to qualify for the race like there was last year. I just hope I can win the race for my country, my sponsors and ppc Racing."

Jourdain made his move to stock cars from open-wheel racing last year, starting 20 NBS races with ppc Racing, the 2000 NBS championship-winning team. Jourdain's best-career finish was a 10th-place effort at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway that year, just five races into his stock car racing career. Associate sponsorship from Kraft Foods and its Team Kraft Racing program will return with Jourdain in 2006, as the No. 15 will sport the KRAFT and Oreo's brands on the "C" post and the "Ritz" cracker brand behind the rear tires.

"Last year Roshfrans celebrated 50 years of business in the lubricant industries," said Sergio Platonoff Castillo, vice president of sales at Roshfrans. "We continue to be committed to the development and advances of our beloved country and people of Mexico and Michel is no exception. Since 1955, Roshfrans has grown to support our employees and the people of Mexico and we want nothing better than to see Michel do well in this, our home NASCAR Busch Series race. We wish Michel the best."

For car owner, Greg Pollex, having Michel back on the track was a personal initiative; his loyalty to his drivers and employees at ppc Racing.

"Having Michel in a ppc Racing car full time is what we want to provide," said Pollex, who has 32 NBS victories since entering the sport in 1993. "While sponsorship from Roshfrans is just one race, it becomes one more race for Michel to gain experience racing a stock car. We have been working hard to obtain sponsorship for our team with Michel but nothing has been finalized. We are thankful to KRAFT for continuing to support this program and to Roshfrans for its trust that we will put Michel in a winning position. I believe Michel will do well in this event, along with Kenny (Wallace, No. 22 AutoZone Ford Fusion) and John (Andretti, No. 10 FreedomRoads Ford Fusion). Michel will be a factor in this race, I guarantee."
