Joe Fox to pilot #0 Family Dollar car @ Watkins Glen, August 13th

Charlotte, NC - July 31, 2005- Professional sports car racer Joe Fox is set to pilot the #0 Family Dollar Stores / Race Girl Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the NASCAR Busch Series event at Watkins Glen on August 13th. Fox who will be replacing the team's regular driver Kertus Davis is one of the select road racing experts that NASCAR teams bring in to help with valuable team owner points when the teams go to the scheduled road course events. A native of Hickory, NC, and current Charlotte resident he began his career in 1990 while he was still in high school.

"I've driven and raced just about everything," explains Fox. And when he says "everything", he's not exaggerating. The list of Joe's rides includes everything from Datsun 510s and Formula cars in Europe all the way up to Trans-Am cars and Historic Winston Cup cars. Along the way, the young driver has picked up numerous awards and praise from peers, including Professional Sportscar's Rising Star award, which he received while racing for Mazda. With the Panoz Racing School since 1999 and the Porsche Driving Experience since 2000, Joe raced a Porsche 996 with G&W Motorsports in the Grand American Road Racing Series, and a Lamborghini Murcielago GTR for Krohn-Barbour Racing in the American Le Mans Series in 2004. In addition to piloting the #0 in the Watkins Glen race, for 2005 Fox is again competing in Grand-Am with LNS Motorsports in another Porsche 996.

"This is absolutely what I love doing," says Fox. "I can't imagine not being behind the wheel at this point in my life. I'm extremely excited that Davis Motorsports has given me this opportunity and for our new sponsor Family Dollar Stores. I am happy to represent Family Dollar and all of everyone involved is extremely excited about this and that is what it is all about." Fox has earned a reputation for his skill and precision, particularly on road courses like the Watkins Glen track.

"He's someone to look out for in the months and years ahead," says Johnny Davis car owner of the #0 Family Dollar Stores / Race Girl Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

When he's not on the track, 33-year old Fox enjoys mountain bike riding, remote control cars, bird hunting and horseback riding. For more information on Joe Fox, the NASCAR Busch Series race at Watkins Glenn or the #0 car, contact David Jewell with The Jewell Agency at 704.347.0399.
