Jeff Green on Dover: Jeff Green, current points leader and driver of the No. 10 Nestlé NesQuik Chevrolet on the NASCAR Busch Series, feels he has a good shot at another top-five finish at the Monster Mile.
"I like Dover because it's like a big Bristol, " said Green. "I seem to run good at those types of race tracks, so I'm looking forward to it. I think we're capable of finishing in the top-five again like we did in the spring. The only thing we have to overcome is the tires change every time we go there and they've changed it again from the spring race. Every time we learn something we have to change it again. Harold (Holly, crew chief for Green) seems to pick up the changes pretty quick, so I don't anticipate a problem with it."
On the Championship Points Battle: Even though his points lead is the largest in the history of the Busch series, Green has not changed his focus about what he wants to accomplish each race weekend.
"Everyone races each week to win and that's our main focus," said Green. "The championship is just a bonus. We'll enjoy it when the season is over, but right now we are focused on winning. We're going to keep on doing what we've been doing, which is trying to win practice, win the pole and win the race. That is what has gotten us into the position we are in."
Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking the same car Dover that competed earlier this year at both Darlingtons, both Bristols, Rockingham and the spring Dover event. So far this season, the car has two second-place finishes, one third-place finish and three fourth-place finishes.
Off-weekend activities: When away from the track, Green enjoys spend time in the outdoors. Green's favorite pastime is deer hunting and he spent last weekend in Russellville, Kentucky for the opening of bow season. He also participated in the Fifth Annual North Carolina Speedway/Remington Arms Company Sporting Clays Charity Benefit Shoot on Tuesday, September 19th.
