Green Superstitions: Although many drivers have superstitions about the color green, Jeff Green, driver of the No. 10 Nestle NesQuik Chevrolet, cannot afford to be superstitious about it. After all, his last name is Green. He carries a green marble in his pocket at all times when he is at the race track for good luck. However, there is one green thing he stays away from when he is at the track.

"I've never had any real racing superstitions or race day rituals that I adhere to every weekend, but that changed last spring at Charlotte," said Green. "It was real hot during the race and we didn't have a cooling unit in the car. I got so overheated with three laps to go, that I lost some of my lunch and I had eaten green beans before the race. So now, even though I am not superstitious of green, I do steer away from eating green beans on race day. Oh, and we also put a cooling unit in the car now!"

Jeff and Friends: Green will have a special friend in the pits cheering him on at Charlotte this weekend, country recording artist, Steve Wariner. Wariner has partnered with Green as part of a radio promotion for his new single, "Katy Wants A Fast One." To qualify for the grand prize, listeners called-in when they heard the song and won Wariner's CD and a Jeff Green / No. 10 NesQuik die cast car. One grand prize winner's name was drawn from all qualifiers at each participating radio station and that person won tickets to a private acoustic performance by Steve Wariner in Charlotte, Friday night with special guest, Jeff Green in attendance. Also included was airfare, hotel accommodations and tickets to both the Busch and Winston Cup races at Lowe's Motor Speedway. There were 45 grand prize winners in all. In addition, Wariner will sing the national anthem for the Busch series event at Charlotte on Saturday.

Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking a fairly new car to Charlotte. The car has only competed once this year at Michigan where it finished 14th.

"I feel pretty good about the car for this weekend's race," said Green. "Even though it didn't perform well during the early laps at Michigan, we were able to fine tune it and it was fast at the end of the race. We finished third at Charlotte in the spring event, but we couldn't bring that car back this time, because it was the car we wrecked at the Dover race two weeks ago. I don't think that will be a big factor because this new car is capable of running even better. Jason Keller tested at Charlotte last week and ran really well. With his notes and what we learned here in the spring, I feel that we should have a good shot at victory lane."
