Reed Sorenson and No. 41 Discount Tire Dodge

* Homestead-Miami Facts: Sorenson and the Discount Tire team tested at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 9 and 10 in preparation for Sorenson's first race at the 1.5-mile track.

* From atop the pit box: Crew chief Brian Pattie has called seven NASCAR Busch Series races at the Homestead-Miami Speedway and made the trip to victory lane three times - 1997, 1999 and 2001. Pattie has been a crew chief since 1997 and has won at least one race each year, including the 2004 win at Phoenix with Jamie McMurray and the No. 41 Discount Tire Dodge. The 2005 season will be his first full schedule as the crew chief of a NASCAR Busch Series team.

* Chassis: Pattie and the Discount Tire team are bringing chassis #454 to Homestead-Miami Speedway. Not only did the team test this chassis at the track two weeks ago, but Casey Mears captured the Busch pole at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October in chassis #454 en route to his seventh-place finish.

* Tire Fast Fact: If winter tires are installed on the front of any vehicle, winter tires must also be installed on the rear. Without winter tires on the rear, vehicle handling can be adversely affected due to traction mismatch. This may result in the loss of vehicle control, which could cause serious injury. For rear-wheel drive vehicles it is acceptable to mount two winter tires on the rear axle only.

Reed Sorenson Quote:

"I've looked forward to every race this year," said Sorenson. "We tested at Homestead in the Discount Tire Dodge and it went well. It's hard to gauge how well we did because everyone said the track is different now that the surface has been raced on several times. There were also so many cars testing that the time on the track was limited.

"The car we are taking is the car that Casey drove in Charlotte. He led the most laps in the race, so we know the car is good. I'm excited because this team is capable of running up front and contending for the win. I think we have a legitimate shot at a top-five finish this weekend."
