RIDGEWAY, Va.-For the first time in their 19-year NASCAR Busch Series career, HMV Motorsports (Hensley Racing) will be unloading a Ford from their hauler for the Miami 300, which is scheduled for Saturday at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Fla. HMV Motorsports, which was founded in 1952 by Hubert Hensley as Hensley Racing, has historically been a General Motors team but feel that the new trend to success in the always-competitive NASCAR Busch Series is with the Ford Taurus. "We are extremely excited to get to Homestead to see how the Superflo/HMV Motorsports Ford Taurus is going to react," expressed Jeff Hensley, HMV Motorsports team manager. "From what we have seen the Taurus has a better body than what we have traditionally ran in the Busch Series and is more aerodynamic. Another advantage with the Ford package is that it seems to favor the smaller teams more. Since the costs of being competitive in the Busch Series continues to rise each year, Ford has stepped in to give the littler teams a better chance at competing with the high dollar operations." After winning the NASCAR Busch Series Championship in 1990, HMV Motorsports have long been looking for a way to get back on the podium and now are looking to the Ford Taurus to get closer to that goal. "After winning the championship in 1990 we have ran consistent, but not at the level we know we should be," continued Hensley. "Hensley Racing was formed nearly 50 years ago and has reached many milestones during that time. We look at the switch to the Ford Taurus as another milestone for Hensley Racing that has the potential to get the team back to the top." The Superflo/HMV Motorsports Ford Taurus can be seen racing live in the Miami 300 on NBC with coverage beginning at 1:00 p.m. EST. HMV Motorsports (Hensley Racing), based in Ridgeway, Va., is the only NASCAR Busch Series team that has competed full time in the series since its inception in 1982. HMV Motorsports is owned by Hubert Hensley. You can now visit HMV Motorsports on the World Wide Web at www.hmvmotorsports.com.
