Kevin Harvick and the ACDelco crew finished eighth in Friday night's Busch Series Race at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Harvick piloted the car to second place where he stayed for the majority of the event. During the final pit stop, a "stuck" lugnut caused the ACDelco team to lose six positions. Harvick's eighth-place finish gives the freshman Richard Childress-owned team its 11th top-10 of the 2000 season.

"We fell short this weekend," Harvick said. "The car was good, but it was Ron's (Hornaday) night, not mine. We struggled on the second pit stop and just couldn't recover because of the lap traffic. Everything has to be right to finish on top. One error can spoil an entire race. This team is by far the best crew on the Busch Series circuit. We proved that last weekend in St. Louis and we'll prove it again in Michigan."
