Bristol, Tenn--Early afternoon Busch Series practice was delayed after the red flag was displayed due to a horrific accident involving drivers Mike Harmon and Johnny Sauter. The accident happened due in part to security gates in turn two failed to be locked in to place.

Harmon was entering turn two roughly ten minutes after practice had begun when he blew a right front tire, sending his No. 44 into the wall.

The posts which are meant to lock down the gate were not properly secured, causing the gate to give way.

Harmon's car slid down track into the path of oncoming Johnny Sauter's No. 2 Chevy. Sauter slammed into Harmon's car, forcing his RCR team to a backup.

Aside from Harmon suffering a simple abrasion on his right side, he was fine. Sauter was unhurt.

Practice was pushed back over three hours while repairs were made to the gate. Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 5:30pm.
