CONCORD, N.C.-Mark Green, driver of the No. 63 Superflo Chevrolet was having a good run at the All Pro Bumper-to-Bumper 300 held at the Lowe's Motor Speedway until an unfortunate accident put him into the wall on lap 43. Green was making a pass for the 25th position when he lost control of the Superflo Monte Carlo and hit the turn 4 wall tail first. "At first I thought that I had gotten hit and asked my spotter who hit me," explained Green. "Apparently when Kyle (Petty) was coming up on me at such a fast pace it took the air off the back end of my car and there was nothing I could do then but hold on. I have heard other drivers saying that the loss of air is what caused their crashes and thought that could never happen. I believe it now!" Prior to his accident, Green was having a good day and had managed to avoid an early accident and had moved up 15 positions in just 43 laps of racing. "I must say it was an experience darting through the tri-oval grass at 180 mph to avoid an accident," continued Green. "After that happened the car was running real fast and we were catching everyone in front of us easily. We needed a good run to boost our confidence going into the last couple of races, but unfortunately bad luck strikes us every time." After repairing the badly damaged racecar, Green held onto finish 33rd. "Thirty-third is definitely not where we wanted to end up, but we weren't even given that opportunity in the spring when we failed to qualified," remarked Jeff Hensley, HMV Motorsports team manager. "This has been a trying season and we continue to do our best. Finishing these last races strong would boost our moral going into the off season."
