YOU MADE CONTACT WITH THE WALL IN TURNS 1 and 2. WHAT HAPPENED?
"The throttle hung. It hung one other time, and it barely hung, and I kind of forget about it the last 100 laps and for some reason it didn't come back that time. We were still too tight. We were probably good enough to get fourth or fifth, but we were still hammer down trying. I guess it's not in us to lead the points. Every time we were get in the lead something happens. We'll still keep digging. We have a lot of races to win yet. I've never had that happen before. I was trying to get to the NASCAR button. I got it shut off, but it still hit wall. I did it one other time, but I kind of forgot about it. You run so far down in the corners here anyway, you never have much of a chance to get it cut off. I finally got it cut off but it was too late. It tore it up too bad to fix it. We don't have enough laps here to fix it. We're going to lose a lot of points today, but there is still a lot of time. I guess we used all of our luck up last year."
JASON RUDD-85-Graybar Ford Taurus (Finished 34th) -
YOU HAD A GREAT RUN GOING RUNNING IN THE 26th POSITION. WHAT HAPPENED?
"I'm really not sure because it happened so quick. I was just running behind the 27 car and my car was beginning to pick up an aero-push running behind him, so I was trying to be real careful. Coming off of (Turn) 2, it ended up pushing itself and then it just got loose from the center out. I've never had that happen quite that quick before, but I guess that's the way it is; I'm still getting used to it."
ELTON SAWYER-98-Mike and Ike/Starter Ford Taurus (Finished 6th) -
"We had a good car. Ricky (Viers) made a good call there with 60 to go to pit before the red flag came out. We got in and made some adjustments, but we were still a little too tight from the center off. We kept working on the car all day and made it better, but we didn't have anything for those Chevrolets. We need to work harder on our cars to try to keep pace with the Chevrolets because they have a little something we don't."
DID YOU THINK THAT THE WINSTON CUP DRIVERS WERE TOO AGGRESSIVE AT THE END?
"Those guys don't have anything to lose. Good, bad or indifferent, that's just the way it is. The 21 isn't running for points and he knocked the 26 car out of the way, but we're racing. You can bet they won't take those chances tomorrow."
DID YOUR CAR HANDLE BETTER ON THE LONG RUNS?
"We were better when we got some rubber down, at least I could get the nose to turn a little better. We had good track position at the end, so that was better, but I just couldn't stay on the bottom enough to hold them off."
YOU'VE RUN GOOD AT THE CONCRETE TRACKS THIS YEAR.
"I love the concrete tracks. They need to make them all that way."
GREG BIFFLE-60-Grainger Ford Taurus (Finished 9th) -
"It was a decent points day. I think we made the wrong decision not to come in when the caution came out for that last shower. The weather on the horizon was decent enough that we should have anticipated running the entire race. It's just the same stuff we see when we run these companion races. The guys who aren't regulars come here and end up taking people out because they have nothing to lose. Buckshot Jones comes over and causes a big wreck in front of us and we smash the right front in. We were going for a top-five finish or better, and guys that have no business doing those types of stunts cause a ripple effect."
DID RANDY GOSS' ABSENCE CHANGE ANY OF YOUR PIT STRATEGY?
"No. The one thing I do know is that Randy never, he's crazy, but he never lets the rain dictate what he does."
YOU HAVEN'T HAD THE BEST OF RACES THE LAST TWO WEEKS, BUT YOU'VE MADE GAINS IN THE POINTS EACH WEEK?
"We faded at the end today because of Buckshot. The car's handling didn't go away because of any of the changes we made in the pits. Buckshot got the 31 into the apron, and we were just trying avoid all that and got the fender knocked in."
DOES THE POINTS GAIN OFFSET ANY OF THAT?
"It does a little bit, but you have a top-three car and finish tenth. We let a lot of guys finish ahead of us that shouldn't have."
JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Finished 13th) -
"We just missed it. Here and Bristol, we had a good setup, but with the new tire and engine package, we haven't been able to get it, so we need to go back and test and regroup."
YOU MADE PIT STOPS DURING MOST OF THE CAUTIONS.
"We were just trying everything we could to change the setup. We put in rubbers, wedge and track bar; we changed most everything we could. We just missed it."
DID THE TRACK LOSE ITS GRIP AFTER EACH RAIN DELAY?
"It was just slick. We just plain missed it. We don't have any excuses."
SHANE HALL-63-Lance Snacks Ford Taurus (Finished 27th) -
YOU FOUND A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CAR LATE IN THE RACE.
"Yesterday, we had a good race car in practice and didn't get to qualify it. I think we could have had a good qualifying run. As far as the race today, we didn't have the same race car we had yesterday. We knew we had a major problem, and I kept coming in and having them check under the hood to see if there was a suspension problem. We finally figured out it was a shock, so we came in and changed all four shocks. We found out it was the left-rear shock, but we won't take it apart until we get back to the shop. It's just one of those things. We're still working on correcting those things and hopefully they become fewer and further between. We need to go to Kentucky and do a little better than we've done lately."
