On the top finish of his Busch Series "I am very happy with our performance today, the Global Industrial Contractors Chevy had a great run. Our pit strategy worked out. We were strong all day and our choices were solid. Things are starting to come together for us. I had a feeling that we might do well today. Our car was good right off the truck. In the final practice we weren't that fast but we were learning, you just give this team time and they figure it out."
On the progress of his AP Performance Racing team "We are a young team. To perform this well in our first year is significant. Bobby (Bakeeff, new crew chief) has given us a boost, but really it's the way he works with the rest of the guys that makes us good. We don't all agree on the calls in the pits. But the guy's on the AP Performance team are good thinkers, together they make the right call.
On his one race sponsorship with Global Industrial Contractors "We had a lot of fun being associated with Global Industrial Contractors this race. Apparently they were right there in the pits with the team enjoying it as much as we were. That's the kind of support you want."
On the handling his GIC Chevy Monte Carlo "We were good all afternoon. At first we were a little tight. On the first pit stop we slightly over adjusted and then were loose on entry. But really we were a top car all day. There are a lot of people making sacrifices to help make this team a success. They deserve this finish."
