Jason Keller Quotes:
The importance of a good finish... Keller and the Albertsons team are relying on a brand new Ford Taurus and Robert Yates horsepower to get them back on track at California Speedway this weekend. Keller finished fifth at the speedway last season and is in need of a repeat performance.
"I am getting more and more comfortable at tracks like California," said Keller. "While it is not my favorite configuration of a wide-open track, it presents many challenges and great racing. The corners are so big that it is vital to be secure when you head into each corner. It's a fast track like Michigan, but it doesn't feel that fast because you spend so much time in the corners.
"We are at a point in the season where it is critical that we get back on track. I don't think the last few weeks were anything that could have been completely avoided, but the sooner we get a solid top-five finish the better. It gets discouraging after you struggle for a few weeks when you know the caliber and capabilities of the car and the team. I'm proud of this team and the way they have been handling the adversity over the past few races. They have the same positive outlook they had at the beginning of the season."
Strong sponsor market... "California, specifically Los Angeles, is a huge market for Albertsons and Sav-on," said Keller. "It really pumps me up to be in a market where I not only relate to my sponsor, but all the fans relate to my sponsor. At tracks like California and Texas I really feel the magnitude of Albertsons and how many people know of and shop at their stores. You can't help but get excited about the race at California Speedway when you walk into an Albertsons because of all the programs and promotions they have based around NASCAR."
