REUTIMANN LIVES THE AMERICAN DREAM
FONTANA, Calif. (August 28, 2007) -- David Reutimann is living an American Dream competing in the NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) and at the pinnacle of the sport in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. As Reutimann sits second in the NBS points standings, he reflects on his career as he prepares to make his 150th NASCAR start Labor Day weekend at California Speedway.
"It's hard to believe I have made 150 starts combined in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck, Busch and Cup Series," said Reutimann, who finished 14th earlier this season at the two-mile D-shaped oval. "Without hesitation, I realize how lucky I am because it was just four years ago that this all came together for me. I never thought these opportunities could happen for a guy like me. Each weekend, I get to do what I love and that means competing amongst NASCAR's elite drivers I admired growing up."
Reutimann's family helped him realize his dream.
"My Dad (Buzzie Reutimann) is a huge supporter in where I am today," said Reutimann. "I look back on the days when I was working in my dad's shop and my wife (Lisa) and I were literally counting pennies to make it all work. I am truly blessed to have Lisa and my daughter Emilia by my side through all of this."
The Florida-native knows this would not be possible without the support of his sponsor, Aaron's Sales and Lease Ownership.
"Aaron's is an ideal sponsor," Reutimann commented. "I would not be where I am now without their support and belief in Michael Waltrip Racing and myself. I drive the Dream Machine, and while to Aaron's it represents dream products for your home, to me, it is my chance to live my dream. I'm proud to be associated with their company."
"It has been a great year for the 99 Busch team." said Ken Butler, President of Aaron's Sales and Lease Ownership, "I want to congratulate David on his 150th NASCAR start this weekend and know that all of our associates support him and appreciate all of his efforts and hard work."
Following a strong third-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway, Reutimann is in the hunt for his first NASCAR Busch Series victory and bets on his Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota Camry being a strong contender this weekend.
"I've competed at California a few times in the all three series," said Reutimann. "I have a couple of top-15 finishes in a Busch car. My best finish in a truck is fourth after starting from the pole last year."
