JEFF GREEN --10-- Nesquik Taurus -- "I don't know how those guys ran that far on gas. They don't have the same fuel cell I've got. I'm just proud of my Nesquik guys. This Nesquik Taurus ran good all day. We made adjustments and it was so good there at the end I was able to get around those guys. We had good pit stops too, but I just couldn't get on the outside of Greg there. He was protecting his position, but it's another good day for us. We wanted to come out here and win, but Hank Parker did a good job and they played the strategy right, but we had the fastest car and that's what matters."
IT LOOKED LIKE YOU COULDN'T MAKE THE PASS YOU WANTED TO ON THE INSIDE. "No, I just couldn't get any grip down there with my front end. The groove on the outside, you could get clean air up there and those guys just hounded me up there when I'd get up under Greg, but that's what they had to do. I was just trying to get on the outside of him. I think I could have done it, but it didn't work out for us. We gained points and that's what it's all about."
DID YOU THINK YOUR STRATEGY WAS GOING TO WIN THE RACE? "We had to go to the end is all. Our car was good enough to go to the end. We thought that those guys were gonna have to stop. We never dreamed that they were gonna make it to the end. We thought we had it won, but that's just the way it goes. You can't win 'em all. You've got the fastest car. We're gonna win our share when we've got the fastest car."
GREG BIFFLE --60-- Grainger Taurus -- "It's disappointing. We didn't even get a top five. That's just pit strategy and all we can do is learn from it and not make the mistake again. It could have gone several ways. The caution flag could have come out and bunched the field up, and I probably had a better car than most guys, but you can't ever gamble on that. You've got to do what you've got to do and these guys had a little bit better strategy today."
YOU DECIDED TO TAKE ON FOUR TIRES DURING THAT LAST STOP, WHAT WENT INTO THAT CALL? "It's not my decision. That was the crew chief's call, I just drive it. He said we were putting on four tires and gas and that's what we did."
KEVIN LEPAGE --71-- State Fair Corn Dogs Taurus -- WHAT ABOUT YOUR STRATEGY OF TWO TIRES. "That was our best chance to win. We were as good as the front guys. I mean, we ran with them all day long in the top four or five and we said, 'Okay, let's do two tires,' and maybe showed our hand a little too soon, but there's no way we could run that many laps like the 36 and the 18. There's no way we could run that many laps on fuel, but we got a fourth-place finish and we're real happy. We made a bunch of changes this morning and it paid off for us."
DOWN THE STRETCH THOUGH WERE YOU FOCUSSING ON JEFF GREEN, THINKING HE WAS THE GUY YOU NEEDED TO BEAT? "That's all we were thinking. He was coming behind us and we were just out there riding in what we thought was the lead and, all of a sudden, he came out of the pits. He (Green) must have done fuel only or something, so I said, 'Let's try to run 'em down,' and I used my tires up pretty hard. So I said, 'Okay, let's take second' and we ended up fourth, but it's a great day for this Ford. I'm really happy and I'm especially proud of this Cosworth engine. I don't know if this is their first top five, but I think it's their first top four. The motor ran strong all day long."
