We had a tough start to the weekend in California, but hope to have a trouble free race.

We started off really just trying to learn the track and get a feel for the car, even though I won here last year in Sports car there is no comparison these cars are a night and day difference. We started out with to high a gear, with the change in gears we pick up speed and continued to pick up speed throughout our first practice ending still down the charts but with every change we were steadily picking up time.

Heading into Qualifying we were some what optimistic on making the field but as we went out for our run the car felt a little flat and we weren't able to improve on our morning speed, I knew we had provisional points to make the field so it wasn't to big a deal, but we were still concerned about the motor, so we checked the plugs and found we were a bit lean.

As we went out for Happy hour everything seemed to be going fine until about our 15th lap when our motor suddenly blew luckily it was down the straightaway because if it were to happen in the corner we probably would have ended up in the wall.

We will put our back up motor in and hope to have a good day tomorrow. To say the least it has been a frustrating day but again my main focus is to learn the track and finish the race.

    Thanks Chris
