Ready For The Challenge...There's no doubt about it, says Tim Fedewa, Gateway International Raceway is one of the most challenging venues that the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division travels to each year. The reason - the completely different ends. "You have to get a car that has just the perfect mix of short track and speedway set-up," Fedewa said. "You have a tight turn in one and two like South Boston and a high speed, sweeping turn in three and four like Miami. It's a very challenging track for the drivers and the crews, but that's what will make the race interesting."

Riding A Wave Of Momentum...Fedewa and the Stanley team hope to improve on their performance from their 1999 trip to St. Louis. This year, Fedewa comes to Gateway off a top-10 finish at Pikes Peak and hopefully a little luck on his side. "I have my favorite car - the one we won with at New Hampshire - and it hasn't let me down this year," Fedewa said. "I have a great car, a great team, and I'm confident that we'll be a contender." All Work And No Play...Just like last year, the Stanley team spent an extra day in Colorado, but they weren't taking the day off or taking in the scenery. The team spent Sunday morning in the parking lot of Pikes Peak International Raceway working on the No. 36 car that will be on track at Gateway International Raceway this weekend. "We'd really be pushing it if we tried to go back to the shop, get everything ready for St. Louis and then get out there on time," said crew chief Billy Nacewicz. "It's a rough schedule for the teams, so it was easier to just bring the shop with us." Who Wants To Be A Tool Winner? Shawn Akers of the National Speed Sport News was the winner of the weekly "Who Wants To Be A Tool Winner?" Stanley Sweepstakes 2000 last weekend. Don't forget to pick up an entry form and guess where the No. 36 team will finish this weekend in St. Louis.
