TV/Radio: FX 12:30 pm ET / MRN 12:30 pm ET
Compton at Dover: Compton has four NASCAR Winston Cup starts at Dover Downs with his best finish 24th in September 2001. In 2001 he finished 6th at Dover, racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series MBNA E-commerce 200.
Compton on Dover: "Dover is a lot like Bristol only more of it. The cement surface gives your tires a good grip and is more predictable than asphalt. I really like racing there, the frustrating part is that you bring a good car to the track, run good all day and can still get tangled up in somebody else's wreck. The key to success at Dover is to run low, run fast and hope you don't run out of luck!"
Compton's Season: With 13 races completed, Compton is 9th in the point standings. He has two top-5 finishes and five top-10 finishes.
Last Year at Dover: Jimmy Spencer won last year's June race at Dover with a 1.131 second margin of victory over Matt Kenseth. The race had ten cautions for 47 of the 200-lap event. There were eight lead changes among eight drivers.
Double Duty: In addition to his Busch Series ride, Compton is also running the full NASCAR Winston Cup Series schedule in the No. 14 Conseco Pontiac owned by A.J. Foyt Racing. Last weekend in Charlotte he finished 37th in the Coca-Cola 600 after experiencing mechanical difficulties.
