SCOTT RIGGS-10-Nestle Nesquik Ford Taurus (Qualified 5th) Highest rookie qualifier

"We slowed down a little bit from where we practice. We were able to be second-quick in practice making some qualifying runs in practice and slowed down a little bit. My car was actually a little too tight. We knew that it was going to get tighter on the second lap, and I just didn't quite get all that I could get on the first lap. I felt that it was a little too tight for me to get back in the gas good and solid. Like I said, we wound up fifth, so we'll take fifth here. This is my first time here in a Busch car so, so we'll come here and take fifth and see if we can start close to the front and work our way closer."

YOU WON HERE LAST YEAR IN THE TRUCK SERIES. TALK ABOUT WHAT IT TAKES TO RUN WELL HERE. "Well, those MBNA trophies, me and Bobby were talking about them when we came in, look awful good. Last year, I was able to get one in the truck series in the truck race. Just like Bobby said, you're going to have to, whoever can carry the most speed through the corners and use the most throttle off the corners is going to be the one that runs the fastest all day long, and usually will be the one that's up front and will win the race."

IF THE TEMPERATURE COOLS DOWN TOMORROW, HOW WILL THAT AFFECT THE TRACK CONDITIONS? "It will definitely make it a lot better for all of the drivers. I know that last weekend, it was awful in Charlotte. It was a hot race. To be able to race in some 70-degree weather would be fantastic for us. I think the higher the temperature gets, the more your trouble, whatever trouble you're fighting, I think the more it shows up and the more you fight it. I think you'll see a lot closer race tomorrow if the temperatures are down just a little bit."

BOBBY HAMILTON, JR.-25-Team Marines Ford Taurus (Qualified 2nd)

"The car was good. It had a whole look of power; the car was just loose. We missed the track and ended up second. You can't complain when you're car is ill-handling and we ended up where we did, so we'll take it."

TALK ABOUT YOUR CONFIDENCE LEVEL RIGHT NOW. "Just the team, it's communicating right now, it's so high. Everything we do, we do as a team. And, Fred right now knows exactly what I mean, every situation that I'm in. If I'm loose, he knows how loose I am or how tight I am. It took this long to get meshed together, but there are a lot of teams that start from scratch and it takes them a whole year. We'll take this time and we'll just keep getting better and hopefully continue our progress.""

TALK ABOUT YOUR COMFORT LEVEL HERE. "The track has a whole lot of grip. Goodyear brings us good tires every week, and here especially. Whoever drives off in the corner harder and gets on the gas harder and stays in it longer is going to be best. And, we have that type of car again this week. That's what we're trying to dial in to make sure we have that same feeling, so we're looking forward to tomorrow."
