Jason Keller Quotes:
Gaining Redemption From 2001... Keller has seen a tremendous amount of success at Dover Downs, except in the 2001 season. Keller finished 13th in June and 25th in September last year after first and second-place finishes in 2000.
"We just couldn't get a handle on the track last year," said Keller. "When you have had the success that we've had at Dover, it's tough on everyone to struggle that bad. I know in my heart I can win at Dover Downs. If I can beat Mark Martin on that track, I can beat anyone.
"We are taking a different car with us this year. We ran this Albertson's Ford at Las Vegas and Nashville already this season. We finished third at Nashville and it's as similar as you are going to find to Dover Downs. We have really stepped up our program and we are a much smarter team. We need to read the car better than we did last year, that's what killed us. I have no doubt we'll be back in winning form this weekend.
Turning A Bad Situation Into A Decent Run... Keller and the Albertson's team recovered from an overheating problem at Lowe's Motor Speedway last weekend to turn a potentially disastrous run into a top-15 finish. The water temperature had risen to over 250 degrees in the car and the team repaired a broken bracket that holds the radiator upright. After repairing the bracket, Keller's Ford was back in top shape. The team battled back from 28th position to finish 13th, maintaining a 21-point lead in the championship standings.
"We could have put ourselves in a big hole," said Keller. "I am real proud of this Albertson's team. They didn't panic, made smart calls and we finished respectively. We can't afford any more DNF's or 30th-place finishes if we want to be leading the championship standings after Homestead. They did what needed to be done to stay in the game."
