Stremme looking to be top rookie at Dover with a win
SPARTANBURG, SC (May 26, 2003) - Team Yellow driver David Stremme will be back behind the wheel for the MBNA Platinum 200 at Dover International Speedway. Stremme has driven in four races this year for Team Yellow and has been the top finishing rookie in each race, a great accomplishment for any rookie, much less one that has never seen most of the tracks that he is driving on.
"I just can't say enough about Team Yellow and how great they are. I have so much confidence in them and respect for them. Every time I get behind the wheel they make things so easy for me. When you have the backing of such a great group of people it makes driving the car easy," Stremme said.
"We have just finished transporting our race shop from Florida to Spartanburg, SC, and that has been a tiring experience. It gave all of Team Yellow a glimpse into how the dock professionals have to work as a team in order to be successful every day. I have had the opportunity to watch dock professionals work before, and now I understand how important the teamwork is to their success, just as it is important to the success of Team Yellow Racing."
"Great teamwork allowed Team Yellow to make this move in the middle of the season and not have it affect our performance. Everything about Team Yellow is "Yes We Can". I have no doubt that when I climb behind the wheel this weekend in Dover I will have a first-class car that is capable of winning the event," Stremme added.
"My goal this weekend is to have a strong qualifying run and a top-5 finish. I would love to put the No. 1 Dodge in victory lane for all of the Yellow Transportation employees. This team has proven they are capable of a win, and I want to give it to them. Besides, this streak of being top rookie in each race I run is fun, I definitely plan on keeping that streak running, and what better way than with a win."
Be sure to watch Team Yellow compete in this weeks MBNA Platinum 200 at Dover International Speedway. The race will be aired live on FX and broadcast live on MRN beginning at 12:30 ET on Saturday, May 31, 2003. Qualifying for the event will take place Friday, May 30 at 1:10 pm ET and will be aired on Speedchannel.
