Driver, Paul Wolfe on starting the 2005 season with new team Evernham Motorsports:
"To be a part of a well-respected and successful organization like Evernham Motorsports is a dream come true for any racer that has worked hard over the years just hoping to get such an opportunity," said Wolfe. "With the extensive resources that Evernham Motorsports provides and the team of talented fabricators, mechanics and engineers that we have in place, we have all the tools in the toolbox to have a successful season. There is some stiff competition in the NASCAR Busch Series this year but we think we can accomplish the goals we have set - running up front consistently, fighting for wins and winning the Rookie of the Year title."
Paul Wolfe on working with Team Director, Elton Sawyer
"With over 20 years of experience as a Busch Series driver, Elton is the perfect mentor for a rookie like myself," said Wolfe.
"Elton has driven each of these tracks, he knows their characteristics and knows what it feels like to drive on them. Having a team director with that kind of first hand knowledge that can relate to what I tell him about the condition of the car is rare and is something that I feel gives me a leg up on the competition."
Paul Wolfe on Daytona International Speedway:
"After a really good test session at Daytona I am looking forward to going back. The test gave me some time to get more familiar with the track and the chance to get a better feel for how the car will perform in the draft. Evernham Motorsports has given me an awesome car for this weekend that is capable of a strong finish. It's my job to keep it in one piece, a task that is never as easy as it seems in a restrictor plate race. I think if there is one lesson I have learned since last year it is that patience is key in restrictor plate racing."
Equipment: Wolfe will compete in chassis No. 18 in this weekend's Hershey's Take 5 300. This is a brand new chassis and is the same car the team tested during the Daytona test session in January.
Testing: The No. 6 Hungry Drivers team participated in the three-day test session, January22-24, 2005 in preparation for this event. Cumulative test speeds for all three days showed Paul Wolfe posting the third fastest lap among Busch Series competitors.
Primary Sponsor: Hellmann's® mayonnaise will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 6 Dodge for the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Hellmann's is the official mayonnaise of Daytona Int'l Speedway.
