Worldwide Beverages, Inc., the London, England based manufacturer of HYPE products, announced plans to sponsor Kevin Lepage and Ridling Motorsports for the 1997 NASCAR Busch Series. The multi-year sponsorship package will also include several NASCAR Winston Cup Series events.

The agreement marks the international corporations first marketing venture into NASCAR racing and the US market.

Ryder Driver Recruiting, the hiring arm of Ryder Systems' Integrated Logistics Division, has joined the No. 88 HYPE/Ridling Motorsports team as an associate sponsor for the 1997 NASCAR Busch Series season supplying the team with logistics services.

The No. 88 HYPE Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be equipped with an in-car camera during the live CBS broadcast of the Gargoyles 300 marking the first time Kevin Lepage or Ridling Motorsports has carried an in-car camera.

After struggling for much of the 1996 season, the No. 88 HYPE/Ridling Motorsports over-the-wall pit crew made several changes to further improve their pit stops.

"During the off-season, we worked to find the fastest combination during pit stop practice," explained crew chief C.R. Miller. "Our results should be noticeable on race day."

The changes include Jay Wiles serving as the jackman and Miller carrying tires. All other pit crew members will retain their duties for the 1997 season.
