DAILY SUMMARY

All NASCAR Busch Series practice has now concluded prior to Friday's qualifying session and the running of the Winn-Dixie 250. Steve Wallace's fast lap of 48.643 seconds (185.021 MPH) ranked him 7th of the 44 car field in Thursday's final practice session.

During Thursday's sessions, the team chose to work solely on race runs, with its 28 laps during final practice being the 2nd most of any team, behind Childress's No. 29. Following the session, the team is pleased with the car's balance and optimistic about Friday's event.

QUOTES

STEVE WALLACE, DRIVER, NO.66 HOMELIFE COMMUNITIES DODGE CHARGER: "I'm excited about the race. We feel like we had a really good car in practice. It seemed to be able to suck up really well behind other cars in the draft. At one point, I ran down a pack from 25 or so car lengths back, all by myself. It seems like at Daytona recently, the pack really starts to get spread out after 20 laps or so; that's when the tires start really giving up and the good handling cars start pulling away. Because of that, we really worked on making sure that our car would still be good on those longer runs. We were still a little bit loose at the end of a longer run on Thursday afternoon, but when the track cools down during the race at night, we're anticipating it going tight and hopefully right into our hands. It's going to be all about surviving to race the last 25% of the race Friday night and we plan on being there at the end."
