ANDRETTI HEADS BACK TO SITE OF FIRST NEXTEL CUP WIN
* Coming off an impressive 12th place finish at The Milwaukee Mile, the #10 ppc Racing team is looking to keep that momentum going for Friday night's running of the Winn Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway. Andretti is no stranger to Victory Lane at Daytona. Andretti won his first Nextel Cup race at the July 1997 Pepsi 400.
* The RVs.com/Camping World team is taking chassis #37 to Daytona. It's the same car the team raced in Daytona this February when Andretti qualified fifth and ran up front before an accident relegated the team to a 34th place finish. Andretti also raced this chassis in Talladega in April, finishing 16th.
* Andretti is currently second in the Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year point standings, just 10 points behind leader, Burney Lamar.
* Moving up three spots with last weekend's finish, Andretti is tied for 12th in the Busch Series driver point standings and the #10 team sits 18th in series owner point standings.
ANDRETTI AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Friday night's running of the Winn Dixie 250 will be Andretti's third start at Daytona International Speedway in the Busch Series, but he has 22 Nextel Cup starts on the Florida 2.5-mile oval already under his belt.
JOHN ANDRETTI ON THE WINN DIXIE 250 AND DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
"We're taking the same car we took to Daytona in February. It was awesome then. We ran up front until we had a tire go down. I don't think that will happen to us again this time and I'm confident we will be just as competitive as we were then. Daytona is always a crap shoot. You know a wreck is going to happen in front of you, behind you, or with you in the middle of it. We just hope we can avoid the big one! You need a gun when you go to Daytona and we have a fully loaded gun for Friday night."
