Mt. Juliet, TN (Monday, June 30th, 2003) - - NASCAR Busch Series rookie Chase Montgomery heads to Daytona International Speedway this week, searching for his first win driving for his family owned machine.

"We're excited about launching Montgomery Motorsports this weekend at Daytona," said Chase.

"This is a great opportunity not only for me, but for my entire team and family as we try continuing to break into the NASCAR Busch Series."

Chase, a veteran driver in the ARCA RE/MAX Series will climb behind the wheel of his No. 80 Chevrolet Monte Carlo as he bids to make his eighth Busch start of the 2003 season. While the team heads to the event sponsorless, it is heading in with confidence on their side.

"It's a shame that we don't have a sponsor yet, but we're still looking and something may still come up. Sponsor or not, we'll be in Daytona in our silver and black car." he said.

Daytona International Speedway, one of the fastest tracks on the circuit has been kind to the 19 year old driver. Montgomery, a resident of Mt. Juliet Tennessee has impressive stats at the 2.5 mile facility.

In his ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) stats, he has claimed a pole back in 2002, driving his No. 27 machine and is currently the youngest ARCA driver to capture the position. A year later Montgomery scored the biggest win of his racing career as he charged to the front and captured his first win in the series earlier this year (2003) from Daytona International Speedway.

It was a special win not only for the Chase and the entire team but also for media spokesperson Rock "N" Roll musician Alice Copper as they launched the Alice Cooper/Montgomery Motorsports team beginning in 2003. It was Coopers' first ever stock car event.

Montgomery had hoped to transfer his ARCA results to the NASCAR Busch Series as he made his first start in NASCAR's secondary series, as he qualified for his first race piloting the No. 27 Trim Spa Pontiac Grand Prix. After qualifying 25th, Montgomery did an incredible job and battled his way to the front and crossed the line tenth in only his first start for Brewco Motorsports.

"Daytona was an incredible week for us, from ARCA to Busch, it was spectacular and a week that I won't soon forget," he said.

While Chase Montgomery drove for Brewco Motorsports at Daytona in February, he heads to the track working with Brewco in a completely different way. "Brewco Motorsports has been great to all of us, and we will be receiving the knowledge and any assistance possible from them as we prepare to get our Montgomery Motorsports Chevrolet into the field," mentioned Chase.

"We appreciate the guys over at Brewco Motorsports taking some time away from Joey Clanton and David Green in order to help our organization get off the ground."

Montgomery adds how important Brewco Motorsports has played a role in his young career. "I still cannot say enough about Brewco, we're building a great relationship with them, and I continue to learn from them and looking forward to the future."

Along with assistance from Brewco, Chase will have two familiar voices calling the shots from the pits as ARCA crew chief Keith Batson and his former NASCAR crew chief Terry Shirley will be there to coach this "young gun" to the front. "I am very excited about having both Keith and Terry part of this race team. They are two very intelligent people and with the great chemistry I have with them, I know I won't have to worry," said Montgomery.

We're very excited about going to Daytona," said car owner Ray Montgomery. "Chase has proven a lot to many teams in both the ARCA RE/MAX and NASCAR Busch series and we hope this is another stepping stone for Chase's dreams to come true."

Heading into Daytona, Chase Montgomery has seven NASCAR Busch Series starts to his credit. He has a best qualifying effort of 15th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a track that he had never competed on, and a career best finish of tenth in his first race from Daytona. Chase holds four top 25 finishes in Busch competition approaching Daytona, including his career best finish of tenth is his first race from Daytona, 12th and 13th and Texas and Talladega, and 22nd at Bristol.

"I'm very excited about returning to the NASCAR Busch Series as car owner. We want to run well and if we do that, then all our of goals have been accomplished."

The eighteenth event of the 2003 NASCAR Busch Series returns to Daytona International Speedway for the running of The Winn-Dixie 250 presented by PepsiCo. Practice and Qualifying are set for Thursday, July 3rd, with the green flag scheduled to wave on Friday, July 4th, 2003 shortly after 8:00pm EST. TNT (TV) and MRN radio will have live coverage of the event beginning at 8:00pm EST.
